Philadelphia III - predictions

OK, my predictions for the ten swing states below are:

Arizona - Republican
Florida - Republican
Georgia - Republican
Indiana - Republican
Missouri - Republican
Montana - Republican
North Carolina - Democrat
North Dakota - Republican
Ohio - Democrat
Virginia - Democrat

More Republicans wins among these, but this doesn't mean defeat for Obama - in fact, over the course of the campaign the swing states have changed, so a few, like Pennsylvania and New Hampshire which used to be swing states are now considered safe for Obama, and others, like Colorado have swung even further, from being safe for the Republicans to safe for the Democrats.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and your predictions.

The level of political engagement by many people previously uninvolved seems very encouraging - but what if by some disaster OB didn't win? Would the social and political fabric be able to support such an extraordinary outcome? What if there was a razor-thin result as in 2000 with the Supreme Court finally making the decision? A new secession crisis? Civil disobedience on a massive scale? A Zimbabwean level of disaffection?

i reckon we'd have a red white and blue revolutions, following the example of ex-soviet orange etc ones - people just sitting in public places until obama was declared the true winner.

Well it didn't come to that, did it? Congratulations to Obama and Biden and to all the people who worked with such enthusiasm for them - not least you, Fran. We're all very proud of you! And we're all very grateful that this good result happened. As someone said there is a rhythm in American politics that periods of major reform happen every 30 years or so: 1910s; 1930s; 1960s .... the next one is overdue and maybe it starts now.
